Kane & Couture
Kane & Couture’s Amber Lee Forrester shares her experience with The Workshop at Macy’s.
As a Detroit native, Amber Lee Forrester was determined to be a part of a world much bigger than the confines of the city that shaped her. After graduating from Detroit Country Day School, she moved to New York City to pursue a Bachelor of Science at Fordham University’s College of Business Administration. While at Fordham, Forrester worked jobs to expand her New York connections and build her career.
After graduating from Fordham, Forrester worked in several positions in marketing and special events, which led to her first entrepreneurial venture in this field. After two years of building various national marketing campaigns and initiatives, Forrester decided to launch her very own brand - Kane & Couture Dog Apparel.
In 2009, Forrester successfully launched Kane & Couture, despite the down economy, and returned to live in New York City. Kane & Couture gained popularity exhibiting at esteemed industry tradeshows and trunk shows in some of Manhattan’s chicest shopping destinations.
Within a year, the up-and-coming dog fashion company expanded into over 80 retail stores in North and South America. After The Workshop at Macy’s, equipped with the knowledge to expand into mass retail outlets, Kane & Couture is continuing to grow, now offering multiple labels under the Kane & Couture umbrella.
